A Sweet Summertime North Georgia Wedding Featuring The Gyselincks
One of the requirements of being a wedding planner is being able to problem solve and roll with the punches when the plan or timeline starts to go off course. It’s a totally normal part of the job and I've grown to expect it for most of the weddings and events I’m part of.
But when a day goes LITERALLY exactly as you planned it?! Now that’s an event that you’ll never forget.
And that’s exactly what happened on June 15th, 2024 with Cassidy and Drew at their beautiful summer wedding at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris, GA!
When I say the day was truly perfect, I mean it! They had the best vendor team and the timeline was kept all day with plenty of buffers.
And as someone who's been a part of lots of weddings, I can honestly say that’s a pretty rare occurrence.
The day started bright and early with Bliss Formal Hair arriving around 8:00am to start glam sessions with the bridal party.
Shortly after, The Flower Garden arrived to start setting up the floral arrangements for the big day! They were absolutely beautiful. 💐
While the girls continued to get ready for the day, the guys were able to enjoy a slow morning before meeting to eat lunch at the onsite resort restaurant, Brassies. After that, they started to get ready for the ceremony as well!
Around 1:00pm, I made my arrival to set up for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception.
On wedding day, it’s always my job to make sure that the small details are taken care of, like the guestbook and gift table, the seating chart, signage, and any other special details that the couple want included.
For this wedding specifically, one of the special details were the bride and groom “you are special” plates. Both Cassidy and Drew grew up eating off these plates for birthdays and other special events, so it only made sense for these to be included on their wedding day!
In addition to making sure all of the small details are taken care of, it’s also my job to make sure all of the other t’s are crossed and I’s are dotted everywhere else, including the ceremony setup, reception seating arrangement, and any other large part of the day that the resort was handling for us.
Around the same time as my arrival, the photographer also arrives to start preparing for the day and begin capturing all of the details before the first look between the bride and groom.
As the afternoon continued, One Night Entertainment arrived to set up their equipment for the ceremony and reception.
After a long morning of hair and makeup, it’s finally go time! Around 2:00pm, the entire wedding party was cued to get fully dressed so that everyone is ready for pre-ceremony photos.
At 2:45pm, Cassidy and Drew had their first look near the ceremony site and it was so special!
Following their special moment, the photographer continues with pre-ceremony photos that include the wedding party and family.
After a full afternoon of photos, everyone is tucked away into their spots to wait for the 5:30 ceremony at the Sunset Pavilion.
And yes, the pavilion is named that for a reason! During the summer months, it’s the perfect location to watch the sun go down and it makes the perfect wedding backdrop. 🌞
30 minutes later, the couple says “I Do” and guests are dismissed to cocktail hour to enjoy jazz entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, and drinks while the wedding party and family snap a few more photos!
At 7:00pm, guests moved into the reception area and seated for dinner. Upon their arrival to their seat, they found handwritten letters from Cassidy and Drew as a special thank you for coming to their big day.
After guests all take their seats, the parents of the couple and the wedding party are announced, followed by Cassidy and Drew. They took their first dance right away to First Time Feeling by Ripe.
Afterwards, the father of the bride gave a welcome speech and blessing prior to dinner being served.
Guests enjoyed a buffet with salad, potatoes, seasonal vegetables, chicken piccata, and prime rib options.
About an hour into the reception, the best man and maid of honor delivered toasts, followed by the cake cutting, dessert, and wedding party dances. 🥂🍰💃🏻
Before the reception dancing really began, the photographer planned for sunset photos with the couple and they turned out absolutely gorgeous!
Guests continue to enjoy the reception with fun glow sticks, heart sunglasses, and Hawaiian leis.
As the night comes to a close, the couple enjoys a private last dance to XO by John Mayer as guests line up for the grand exit with bubbles.
I was truly so honored to be a part of this dreamy day!
